How the email extractor works
Paste text into the box or drop one or more files. Extraction runs as you type, entirely in this tab. Plain text, CSV and spreadsheet exports, saved web pages and raw .eml messages all work; for .eml files the tool also decodes base64 and quoted-printable parts so addresses inside the message body are found, not just those in the headers.
What gets recognised
- Ordinary addresses, including plus tags (
jane+news@example.com), subdomains and internationalised domains. mailto:links, even when the address is percent-encoded (jane%40example.com), and HTML entities such as@.- With Find obfuscated addresses on:
jane [at] example [dot] com, jane(at)example(dot)com, jane AT example DOT comandjane at example dot com.
Options and output
Duplicates are removed without regard to case, and domains are always lower-cased. Filter by domain accepts several domains separated by commas; prefix one with ! to exclude it, or use * as a wildcard (*.edu). Parent domains match their subdomains, so example.com also keeps mail.example.com. The CSV export contains the address, domain and number of occurrences.
Please only email people who expect to hear from you. Harvesting addresses for unsolicited mail is illegal in many countries and will wreck your sender reputation anyway.
Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files are read by your browser and the extraction runs on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere, and the page keeps working offline once it has loaded.
Why did it skip logo@2x.png?
Retina image names such as logo@2x.png look exactly like email addresses. Matches that end in an image, font, stylesheet or script extension are ignored on purpose.
Are duplicates removed?
Yes. Addresses are compared without regard to upper or lower case, kept once, and the count column shows how often each one appeared.
Does a found address mean it works?
No. The extractor only finds text shaped like an address. Run the list through the email validator to catch typos, disposable domains and domains without mail servers.
